Colesville United Methodist Church began the Shrove Tuesday Pancake and Sausage Supper in the 1930s. Initially, all of the food was donated by area farmers and the dinner was free. The dinner is low-cost and features "all you can eat pancakes", sausage and beverages. The dinner is a popular, well known event that is attended by people from all over, not just people that live in Silver Spring.
The dinner is sponsored annually by the United Methodist Men and each year many old and new friends come. Come and enjoy a steaming hot plate of pancakes and sausage and fellowship with members of the community.
