2022 has flown by and we find ourselves once more in the season of Advent.  While this time may be filled with the usual planning and celebration for some of us, others we know will face Advent this year differently. Changes due to illnesses, deaths, medical procedures, on-going health conditions, wars as well as economic and social challenges give us pause during this Christmas. During this season of Advent, let us take the time to remember, commemorate, and prepare to invite and interact with Jesus, the God who does not change:

Psalm 102:27 – “But You are the same, and Your years will not come to an end.”

Malachi 3:6 – “For I, the Lord, do not change; therefore, you are not consumed.”

Hebrews 13:8 – “Jesus Christ is the same – yesterday, today, and forever.”

This year, Colesville UMC is doing something new. Four devotionals for each Sunday in Advent leading up to Christmas Day will be in each Sunday’s bulletin, each with a theme: Week 1: WORD;  Week 2: WAITING IN EXPECTATION;  Week 3: WONDER;  Week 4:  WORSHIP.  They will also be on the website under “Advent Devotionals 2022”.  May you be uplifted and draw near to the Person of Jesus Christ this season as you read the devotionals and ponder.
