COVID MASKS PROTOCOL UPDATE – MARCH 2023

As of March 2023, Colesville United Methodist Church still highly encouraged that persons entering the building wear masks in our Building. However, masks wearing will now be optional at the discretion of those entering the building and will thereby relieving Colesville of any Liability if someone tested positive or comes in contact with someone while at Colesville.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Colesville United Methodist Church has prioritized the health, security, and safety protocols of all entering our building. As we navigate the lingering effects of a global pandemic, we continue to actively monitor conditions and recommendations from state and local government; in that of the lifting of mask mandates by both the state of Maryland and Montgomery County.

We continue to strongly recommend masks as the best way for individuals to protect themselves from COVID-19 and other seasonal viruses. We, therefore, ask our congregation, visitors, and others to respect our choices if any of the following occur in wearing a mask:

1. If you have tested positive, you should not enter the church or sanctuary until you have 2 successive negative tests.
2. You should wear a mask if you have knowingly been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID 19; or feel you had attended some function at which the possibility of exposure was high, and you haven’t been tested.
3. If you are experiencing respiratory issues, coughing, sneezing, sore throat, etc. you should wear a mask.
4. Individuals testing positive or knowingly are exposed to COVID in a 4-day period of attending service at Colesville United Methodist Church should notify the church administrator at 301-384-1941 as soon as possible.

These changes in Colesville’s COVID protocol reflect the current state of COVID 19 as reported by CDC, county and state governments. These protocols are subject to change based on future CDC and government guidelines.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support.
We look forward to welcoming you back to
Colesville United Methodist Church!
